This course allows participants to revise the grammar taught at secondary school in a structured way and to acquire extra vocabulary by making use of exercises and authentic listening fragments. The course is perfect to brush up your language proficiency, e.g. for participants who have not spoken French for a couple of years but are preparing for a work situation in which they will need the language.
You learned French in secondary school, as a second or third language and you understand clear spoken French almost always. However, French is still a difficult language for you: When you speak French, you do not feel certain: you often use the same words and structures and have doubts about the correct use of the language. You feel like you lack prior knowledge to be able to express yourself fluently. In a conversation, only the English translation comes to mind when looking for a speciific word. ou are unsure about the correct use of verb tenses in specific contexts and you only vaguely remember le subjonctif, l'accord du participe passé and the use of le pronom personnel COD/COI (le, lui, leur, etc.) and you are unable to use this knowledge effectively.
There is a placement test and a final test.
Before registering, you take the online orientation test. This test refers you to the course that matches your level best. To have a full and accurate idea of your level, you will take an oral orientation test during the first session as well. Based on the outcome of this orientation test, you may be referred to another course because it is more suitable for you.
