Self-test French

Do you want to register for a French course at the UCT for the first time?

Then you take an online self-test. Based on your result, you register for the course that best matches your level. At the end of the first lesson, there will also be an oral placement test to confirm that the language course you registered for suits you.

How does it work?

First, take the online self-test. The test consists of listening and reading exercises, and questions about vocabulary and grammar.

• Number of questions: 26
• Duration: maximum 35 minutes
• Result: you immediately see which course best matches your level.

Important tips

• You can only take the test once.
• Interrupting the test is not possible.
• So make sure you take the test in a quiet environment, with sufficient time and a good internet connection. Do not skip the reading and listening exercises, otherwise you will not get a reliable result.
