Objectives and content

  • Listening skills: Guided listening exercises with an average degree of difficulty enable you to understand native English speakers better.
  • Speaking skills: You will learn how to cope with everyday situations in English. Speaking and conversation exercises enable you to activate and practise new vocabulary and grammar. Attention is also paid to pronunciation.
  • Reading skills: You will extend your basic vocabulary and grammar by means of reading materials of average difficulty.
  • Writing skills: Practical exercises enable you to further practise grammar and vocabulary. A lot of attention is paid to the correct use of the verbs (tenses).

Required prior knowledge

You have basic knowledge of English grammar but you have difficulty writing or speaking fluently and correctly in English.

Tests

There is a placement test and a final test.
You will need to complete a short online test before registration. This way, you will be able to assess whether your level matches the course Practical English 3. During the first session, your teacher will evaluate if the result of the online test can be confirmed. If you are referred to a different level you can enter that level on condition that sufficient places are still available.
