Objectives and content

This course consists of communicative classes that aim to to acquire a basic knowledge of Swedish in a short period of time. The course mainly focuses on oral skills.

  • Speaking skills: Communication is key. At the end of the course, you will be able to have short conversations in everyday situations. A number of the topics include: introducing yourself, asking for directions, family, leisure time, shopping, going to a restaurant, at the doctor’s, checking in in a hotel, the weather, etc.
  • Listening skills: The class dialogues contain many audio fragments that will make you acquainted with Swedish.
  • Reading skills: Each class features short dialogues or texts that will be read and consequently used for expanding your vocabulary or increasing your awareness of Swedish grammar.
  • Writing skills: At the end of the course, you will be able to fill out forms with your personal data and write short texts on everyday topics.
  • Specific grammar topics: plural of nouns, forms of adjectives, personal pronouns, comparative and superlative forms of the adjective, present tense, imperative, etc.

Required prior knowledge

No prior knowledge of Swedish is required.

There is a final test.
