Objectives and content
- Speaking skills: This course will teach you how to use your knowledge of the Dutch language in meaningful conversations. You will also learn to speak fluently on different topics by means of a.o. group discussions about subjects of your own choice.
- Listening skills: This course will familiarise you with listening to authentic materials and you will learn hwo to follow longer and more complicated reasonings.
- Writing skills: There will be a gradual transition from short to longer text units. You will learn how to pay attention to the objective of your text, the reader, the style and the structure. You will learn how to write clear and detailed texts on different subjects in which you give arguments for or against a certain point of view.
- Reading skills: By acquiring new vocabulary and reading strategies, you will learn how to understand texts on current topics, as well as modern literary texts.
Required prior knowledge
- You know the basic vocabulary and grammar of the Dutch language.
- Understanding conversations on familiar subjects is no problem. If people talk about more difficult topics, you can understand the main points.
- Reading texts in a daily language or a language related to your work is no problem at all.
- You can participate in conversations on a familiar topic. When you participate in discussions, you can formulate short arguments and explanations.
- You can write structured texts and letters with a strong argumentation.
Tests
There is a placement test.
The date of the orientation test (for students Dutch level 2 - 6 who failed the final test) can be found of the proof of registration.
The final test of Level 5 is the ITNA test B2.
